Delta Agriculturist: Bridging Research and Farming Practice

The Delta Agriculturist is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Agriculture, Rivers State University in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Its mission? To close the gap between academic research and practical agricultural application, making valuable findings accessible not just to fellow scientists but also to farmers, extension workers, and agri-industrialists.

 Purpose and Scope

• It serves as a platform for well-researched articles and review papers across a diverse range of agricultural disciplines.
• Topics include crop science, soil science, agricultural engineering, aquaculture, food science and processing, as well as agricultural economics and extension services.
• Occasionally, it also welcomes agriculture-related insights from other disciplines.

 Submission Essentials

Authors looking to contribute must follow specific formatting guidelines, including:

• Manuscripts in British English using Book Antiqua font
• Clearly defined sections: ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION, ACKNOWLEDGMENT, and REFERENCES
• Emphasis on using scientific names in titles and within the text
• All graphs (via Excel) and tables must be clearly structured; photographs must be in black and white

 Unique Features

• Authors must include art-quality sketches to indicate the study area—no color scans or photos accepted.
• The journal encourages short communications for impactful findings with limited scope.
• All submissions imply transfer of copyright and must declare no conflicts of interest.
